It’s honestly embarrassing to see low-effort, AI-generated ideas winning.

Really disappointing results. It's honestly frustrating to see winning entries that feel like they were just generated by ChatGPT with no real effort behind them. As someone who also uses AI for idea brainstorming, I can easily recognize these kinds of generic, surface-level concepts—they’re often the first suggestions you get from prompting “give me a startup idea.”

I spent days refining and building a project that I genuinely believed in. I researched, iterated, and tried to solve a real problem. It’s disheartening to see that kind of work overlooked in favor of something that looks like it was spun up in minutes with no depth.

I'm not against using AI—it’s a tool. But I do think there’s a difference between using AI to enhance your creativity and just submitting what it spits out. That gap in effort and originality should matter.

    Actually, it wasn't embarrassing.
The task was to showcase the idea, and winners were selected based on the reach their project got on socials—like X or IG—not solely by the judges. So the winners were those whose ideas were validated by the public. It didn’t matter whether the idea was “AI-ish” or not—what mattered was whether it appealed to the general audience.

As you said, you're putting in a lot of effort, and since ~95% of the competition is still ahead, you have a strong chance of winning. IMO, the final winner will be judged by the panel based on creativity, skill, and impact. Wishing you all the best—your hard work will surely pay off in one way or another.

Fully agree with Sakib's comment above. We review every single project ourselves. With this being said, you can always reach out to me at @terodaher and we can discuss in further detail. We are happy to assist everyone to build on XION.

    Wish you all the best!
